Lens Cap, Recovered – Victorian Telescope T-Shirt
£25.00
A Victorian telescope tee for anyone who has ever put something down for a moment and regretted it.
The brass cap from Telescope 2 was set down on the roof parapet one November night, and by morning it was gone. Three days later it was recovered from the top of the dome, where no ladder reaches, lying inside face up. The marks on the inner face have been catalogued as evidence. On the Committee's instruction, they are not to be described as scratches. An engraved brass cap on a museum tag, No. 2, T.2, Roof, with a fine curved row of moon-gold marks inside.
